We recently updated the Knowre Teacher Dashboard, which includes many exciting features that make it easier for teachers to effectively use Knowre in their classrooms. As we are laser-focused on personalization and on empowering teachers with data, in this update, we have emphasized the inclusion of aggregated data and designed the presentation of that data in a format that is both easy to read and easy to use.
Simplify class monitoring
One of the biggest changes in this update can be seen on the new Overview page that has been added to the Teacher Dashboard. This page offers aggregated information about each class as a whole through the graphs, as well as a high-level overview of individual students’ progress and achievement. Dynamic graphs that focus on achievement score distribution, achievement trends, and week over week problem completion provide teachers with a strong visual sense of their class’ performance overall.
See individual student progress and achievement data
The table at the bottom of the page reflects teacher requests to see the number of questions a student has answered on the program. We have included that information on a weekly and cumulative basis. For teachers with students progressing through the program in sequential order, the new “Last Seen” data column is extremely valuable. A quick sort and it is easy to see how much progress has been made and which students may be in need of a little more encouragement. Another data column, “Curriculum Progress,” is a color-coded gauge which provides teachers with a quick, visual indication of which students are on track and which are struggling.
As with the implementation of any program, there is the need for a teacher to complete certain administrative tasks such as resetting passwords, adding/moving students, and retrieving usernames. We have streamlined these tasks into the Overview page to make it easy and quick to complete the task while not losing sight of what the rest of the class is up to.
Access formative assessment data
In Knowre, teachers also have the ability to track student achievement on a lesson-by-lesson basis. The real-time Student Progress view is designed to let teachers know at a glance how students are doing.
Each lesson column provides teachers with an overall class average as well as the ability to sort student achievement into increasing or decreasing order. The sorting function, combined with the color-coded interface (which the teacher can customize), makes it easy for teachers to quickly create small groups for targeted intervention, or identify topics that require whole class attention.
Implement in-class Knowre challenges with ease
Coins and stars in Knowre have been designed to convey immediate feedback to students in a way that is fun, targeted, and actionable. We’ve heard amazing stories from our teachers about how motivated students feel to reach their coin and star goals. In many classrooms, Knowre teachers have chosen to extend the coins and stars and incorporate them into incentive systems.
One way this is done is through class challenges. At the beginning of the week (or month) a teacher lets his/her students know the coin or star goal. That goal is tracked throughout the challenge period to keep students engaged in achieving their goal. Not only are students more focused, but they are also answering more questions!
To make it easier to implement these effective challenges, we now include class coin and star totals within the Class Overview page. No more adding up individual student totals. A quick glance at the screen will give you everything you need to implement a class challenge in no time.
Assign and modify assignments in just 3 steps!
Knowre’s Assignment feature makes it easy to provide students with the lessons they need to work on and to monitor progress towards completion of those lessons. Not only can teachers assign specific Knowre lessons to individual students, a group of students, or the entire class, teachers can also assign personalized review questions generated by our program that target each student’s unique gaps. This can be completed in just three steps!
In addition, each teacher has the ability to modify lesson and review assignments. Teachers can easily change the due/date and time of an assignment, and add or remove students as needed. Teachers can easily check the Assignments column on the Overview page to see assignment completion information, along with other important student progress and achievement data.
