Vice President of Sales and Marketing

Position Summary

The sales leader will partner with the CEO to help reboot and launch their US School product into version 2.0 and beyond. Knowre is seeking an executive with an entrepreneurial spirit and drive to redesign and grow their US school sales and marketing functions. You will be responsible for:

  • Developing and executing a go-to-market strategy including lead generation, sales pipeline development and execution, customer support, and renewals that support the long-term growth of the business
  • Identifying, creating, refining and enhancing the sales strategy in order to develop a scalable and repeatable process
  • Driving the player / coach model – initially as player during the liftoff phase and soon thereafter, you will be hiring and managing a team of individuals to execute the strategy that you have created and trialled
  • Achieving and exceeding quarterly and annual sales quotas
  • Building deep relationships across districts and schools to create lasting partnerships with the company and product
  • Initiating, aligning, and creating marketing efforts to support your sales approaches
  • Collaborating closely with CEO and Product Directors to support product development and vision
  • Communicating progress and direction to the management team

Responsibilities: 

You will bring your experience:

  • Building and managing teams – all the better if you have started or have the desire to start a sales team from scratch
  • Working in startups – particularly if you started with little revenue and helped grow the business
  • Being actively involved in multiple facets of the job including marketing and product development
  • Implementing different sales models to districts and schools
  • Selling digital products (preferred)
  • Working closely with the CEO (or similar) to get the job done. Your approach to work is that no job is beneath you

Desired Skills and Experience: 

  • Experience scaling and operationalizing a business from ground zero and/or building a sales team from scratch  
  • EdTech thought leadership – you enjoy monitoring the market and reaching informed predictions as to where the market is headed
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Deep understanding of the education space; if you have experience in mathematics, even better
  • Experience utilizing data to drive decisions and inform plans and activities. Excellent quantitative and analytical skills
